Espresso

While many of our coffees make an excellent espresso, this is the first blend we created specifically for that most demanding method of preparation. With bold, rich flavors and a name that signifies strength, Espresso Forte strikes the perfect balance between the earthy depth of coffee from the Indo-Pacific and the bright, lively spiciness that's characteristic of the Americas Blend. Everything we love in espresso, this blend has effusive aroma, stout body and luscious crema enveloping a tangy core of pure coffee flavor. Fortissimo!

A lovely town near me, Lexington, MA has a Peets that has very good service and is a nice place to work. Its also a town I cant believe doesnt have a sleek 3rd wave pourover type place (RIP Ride Studio Cafe Lex).

In any case, had a double espresso here on a cold rainy day and it hit the spot. Great crema, nutty, toasty, a little spice, nice mouthfeel. A very good dark roast espresso. I guess Peets wouldnt have been here all these years if they didnt have a good espresso as a base for their drinks.

More Details

Roast Level: Dark
Dark roast coffee features a more intense, robust flavor profile due to its longer roasting time. Therefore, when selecting a dark roast, expect less acidity, a full body, and flavors like dark chocolate, smokiness, and a hint of bitterness.
Bean Source Country: Americas Blend
Latin American coffee beans often have flavor profiles characterized by bright acidity, medium to light body, and fruity or nutty notes.
Espresso
Espresso is a concentrated coffee beverage brewed by forcing hot water through finely-ground coffee beans under high pressure. It is characterized by its rich flavor and distinctive crema—the creamy layer that forms on top of the extracted process. When evaluating espresso, coffee experts often focus on key tasting characteristics such as aroma, flavor, body, and aftertaste. Aroma refers to the fragrant smells released during brewing, while flavor encompasses the coffee's overall taste profile, including notes of sweetness, bitterness, acidity, and richness. Body refers to the coffee's texture or mouthfeel, with descriptors like full-bodied, medium-bodied, or light-bodied. Aftertaste, or the finish, pertains to the lingering flavors and sensations experienced after swallowing the coffee. A well-prepared espresso is prized for its balance and complexity, combining these sensory attributes into a harmonious whole.
