In Colombia, luminosa means "shining or bright," and this bright blend layers subtle sweetness from Colombia with just the right touch of Ethiopia floral aromatics—a pair we knew would go perfectly together. We started with a coffee from the Huila region in Colombia's highlands, a place where beans are cultivated over 4,500 feet and known for their smooth, sweet character. Then to Ethiopia, coffee's birthplace, where unique varieties yield exquisite coffees with delicate aromas. Formerly known as Colombia Luminosa, we approached this blend, our first light roast, as we do all our coffees: carefully select the very best beans, then hand roast them in small batches to achieve their utmost flavor.

I dont have anything bad to say about this coffee, but it is fairly safe and comes at a price point where Id expect a bit more. As with a few other recent blends, Ethiopian and LatAm blend nicely. It has some nice hints of chocolate and a good acidic balance. Slightly more bitter lingering aftertaste than I like in my higher light roasts. In the espresso grind it makes a good drink, and for me it is markedly better than Peets dark roasts.

More Details

Roast Level: Light
Light roast coffee is a delicately roasted coffee that retains more of the beans' natural flavors and characteristics. Light-roasted coffees have bright acidity, complex fruit, and floral notes. Light roast coffee does not have less caffeine than darker roasts because caffeine levels remain stable during roasting.
Bean Source Country: International Blend
International blend coffee refers to a blend of coffee beans sourced from different regions or countries worldwide. International blends combine beans with distinct flavor profiles and characteristics, resulting in a harmonious and complex cup of coffee. The quality of an international blend depends on the expertise of the coffee roaster, who carefully selects and combines beans to achieve a specific flavor and balance. Roasters who excel in crafting international blends have a deep understanding of the different growing regions, varietals, and processing methods.
