Sweet, juicy dark fruit notes came through strong in the aroma. Blackberry was most prominent. Black currant was noticeable as well. Touch of earthiness too. Interesting sweet-savory balance. As the coffee opened up, a hint of vanilla appeared. Later, the coffee seesawed between sweet blackberry and savory earthy notes. As the coffee approached room temperature, the juicy sweetness intensified. The flavor profile was similar to the nose but slightly less sweet and more acidic. Berry notes were apparent up front. Raspberry was most prominent. Touch of blackberry and black currant too. There was a big, zippy, lemony acidity in the center along with some sweetness. Lemonade came to mind. Tart cranberry notes came through on the back end and carried into the clean, snappy finish. Some dark fruits and savory earthy notes lingered after the swallow. Overall, outstanding sweetness the aroma and high sweetness in the flavor. Medium-high acidity in the aroma and exceptionally high acidity in the flavor. Fantastic creamy, juicy, fuller bodied mouthfeel. This is an impressive Kenyan coffee that reached its peach nearly three months off roast. If you have a bag of this, be sure to give it plenty of rest and a hard push during the brewing process.

More Details

Roast Level: Light
Light roast coffee is a delicately roasted coffee that retains more of the beans' natural flavors and characteristics. Light-roasted coffees have bright acidity, complex fruit, and floral notes. Light roast coffee does not have less caffeine than darker roasts because caffeine levels remain stable during roasting.
Bean Source Country: Kenya
Famed for its bold, bright acidity and fruity, wine-like flavors, Kenyan coffee often features blackcurrant, citrus, and tropical fruit notes. The high elevations, volcanic soil, and meticulous processing techniques contribute to the consistent, high-quality beans, with SL28 and SL34 among the most esteemed varieties.
