I was stunned on the nose how much peanut butter there was in the aroma. A very distinctive cup. Definitely has some peanut butter and chocolate characteristics in the cup (like a certain orange-branded confection). I also get a little bit of caramel and some almond nuttiness. It's a lovely cup of coffee with very balanced acidity and a clean finish. The acidity is a bit in the background and doesn't add the complexity or flavor, but it does create the right mouthfeel here.

In the interest of full disclosure, Brazilian coffee isn't always my favorite. I think the roaster has done an outstanding job here, but I'm not sure there was a complex, fruity acidity to draw ou here. Mirra is an excellent roaster though, and this is an excellent roast, sort of like a super awesome breakfast blend.

More Details

Roast Level: Light
Light roast coffee is a delicately roasted coffee that retains more of the beans' natural flavors and characteristics. Light-roasted coffees have bright acidity, complex fruit, and floral notes. Light roast coffee does not have less caffeine than darker roasts because caffeine levels remain stable during roasting.
Bean Source Country: Brazil
Brazil, the world's largest coffee producer, has traditionally been known for its vast output of commodity-grade coffee, including a significant volume of Robusta beans. However, in recent years, the country has made a concerted effort to enhance the quality of its microlots, aiming to solidify its reputation within the specialty coffee sector including greater cultivation of higher-quality Arabica. These initiatives have contributed to developing coffee microlots with distinct flavor profiles, with Brazilian coffee notably known for rich notes of chocolate, nuts, and fruit.
Bean Source Region: Mogiana
Alta Mogiana coffee is a selection of top-quality beans sourced from around 100 smallholder producers in the renowned coffee-growing region of Mogiana, Brazil. The region gets its name from the historic Railways Mogiana Company, established in 1872 to transport the abundant coffee harvest. Mogiana coffee boasts a well-balanced flavor profile, often characterized by notes of chocolate and caramel.
Organic coffee is produced without synthetic chemicals, such as pesticides, herbicides, and artificial fertilizers. Instead, organic coffee farmers rely on natural and sustainable agricultural practices like crop rotation, composting, and biological pest control. To be labeled as organic, coffee must meet strict regulations and certification criteria set by governing bodies, such as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) or the European Union (EU). Organic coffee not only supports environmental sustainability but may also offer health benefits, as it contains fewer chemical residues than conventionally grown coffee.
