I actually filed the below review after drinking the 3rd cup warm/hot. I bumped the score up after drinking the 3rd extraction (medium version) cooled. It came together without the sort of sour melon mouthfeel I was getting at the end. Instead I get a little Midori! So pretty rewarding with the dial-in. Like many complicated Kenyans, not one for the faint of heart.

I tried 3 different extractions of this, light, medium, heavy. There's a lot going on but I couldn't get to come together. Fresh red plum, ruby red grapefruit, and black currant are fruit notes with the heavier extraction. Hibiscus and cranberry in the acidity. I never get balanced and in all cases I get a cloying aftertaste.

More Details

Roast Level: Light
Light roast coffee is a delicately roasted coffee that retains more of the beans' natural flavors and characteristics. Light-roasted coffees have bright acidity, complex fruit, and floral notes. Light roast coffee does not have less caffeine than darker roasts because caffeine levels remain stable during roasting.
Bean Source Country: Kenya
Famed for its bold, bright acidity and fruity, wine-like flavors, Kenyan coffee often features blackcurrant, citrus, and tropical fruit notes. The high elevations, volcanic soil, and meticulous processing techniques contribute to the consistent, high-quality beans, with SL28 and SL34 among the most esteemed varieties.
Bean Source Region: Kiambu
Coffee from Kenya's Kiambu region is renowned for its rich volcanic soil, which contributes to a complex flavor profile marked by bright acidity, berry-like sweetness, and hints of savory spice. The region's high altitude and consistent climate further enhance the beans' distinctive flavors, making them a favorite among coffee connoisseurs worldwide.
