Golden Hill

Golden Hill is our Light roast from Tanzania. This coffee is a Peaberry variety, which contains a single bean per coffee fruit instead of the typical two. This allows the bean to develop fuller flavors since it is receiving twice the normal nutrients. Tanzania is the third-largest coffee producer in Africa. Grown on the hills of Mount Kilimanjaro, the high altitude qualifies this coffee as Strictly High Grown or SHG. Only a small part, one to nine percent, of any coffee crop consists of Peaberry beans. These beans are then separated due to their superior flavor. We named this roast after Golden Hill because the small Peaberry beans reminded us of the tiny community. Golden Hill is one of San Diego’s most historic and architecturally eclectic areas. Walking distance from Downtown, this area is a favorite of artists and musicians due to its central location and lower cost of living.
