Legit. This a winter 2022 tasting espresso, 1.5 oz extraction at 94 degree Celsius. 5 stars. Balanced, beautiful acidity, bergamot, pomegranate. Like a unsweetened bar of 70% dark chocolate. Nice linger on palate.

Grabbed this bag after a sampling at Clover Food Lab. This is an outstanding Ethiopian that’s all fruit yet super smooth. Black tea is the prevailing platform, with hints of floral honey, red grape, and peach.

I normally don’t love Ethiopian coffee (too dark for me), but this one is so good. I loved it. Could drink it all day.

Cupping Method:Tried it first at Clover as a pourover and then bought beans and made it at home as a pourover. Equally as good. I always have pourover black.

Really lovely, complex and smooth and a joy to drink. I love it when coffee is a taste sensation, and this one nailed it. The ending note is acidic and a little fruity.

We drive 30 minutes out of the way to get this cold brew and the amazing pastries here.

Cupping Method:We stop in Portland on our Maine trips for it.

Tandem does great Ethiopian. Definitely a black tea platform, lots of fruitiness, definitely get the peach, maybe a light raspberry.

Vibrant, fruity Ethiopian. Black tea, pineapple, citrus very smooth despite being toward the acidic taste characteristics.

Super fruity and peachy, a fantastic lingering acidity sitting on top of a black tea platform. For a light roast, this has a huge hit of almond nuttiness in the middle, which is both interesting and sort of throws off the balance just a touch. Nano Genji, another Ethiopian roast from Tandem that I had last week set quite a high bar.

Delicious peachy, fruity Ethiopian. Has some black tea character and some chocolate (a hint mid-palate). Though it's not that complex compared to some Ethiopians, the notes it does hit are quite delicious.

Cupping Method:At Clover Food Labs in Burlington, MA (drank it mostly iced, but got a little of the hot)

An easy-drinking Ethiopian that is a touch floral and pretty heavy on the black cherry. It's nicely balanced and very smooth, riding on a black tea platform. I think it's a bit too black cherry forward and I'd like another note, but it's an easy sipper no doubt. Black cherry for me needs a paired acidity note. A nice full-bodied mouthfeel.

Editor's Overview

Tandem is one of the best roasters in the world. You can't go wrong.

It's a relaxed, accessible roaster focused on single origin roasts. We haven't seen too many super high end or fancy roasts from them - just great seasonal coffee roasted well.
