East Village is a Medium Roast coffee from El Salvador. While not as well known for its coffee as it’s neighbors Guatemala & Honduras, El Salvador has been gaining a reputation for being able to produce some of the best gourmet single-origin coffee. The high altitude of El Salvador causes the beans to grow slower, allowing them to absorb more nutrients and develop the best possible flavor. The Schwartz Family founded Finca Victoria in the late 1800s and has been operating ever since. The land has rich soil and was chosen for its noteworthy climate. In the afternoons, a mist comes down from the mountains, making the micro-climate incredibly unique. We named this roast East Village to celebrate the opening of our 3rd location in the Community. The East Village used to be synonymous with empty warehouses and vacant lots until the Padre’s decided to build their new stadium, Petco Park, there in 2004. Since then the Community is coming to life with new residential and commercial real estate, like the new Park 12 building that we are located in.
