One to try if you're in Honolulu is Knots Coffee Roasters Hawaii. It is located in Queen Kapiolani Hotel Waikk Beach near the Zoo. It is a great little shop with outstanding coffee. They use well-known Big Island Roasters for their coffee. They have Kona, Maui, and a signature blend that is a mix of Nicaragua, Columbia, Peru, and Kona. The blend was very good.

Stopped by Honeybee Coffee and Donut House in Summersville WV today. Great little place. They use a local WV roaster, Cherry River Roasting Company. The coffee was excellent. I tried the Honduras Santa Lucia washed. Strong milk chocolate and pleasent nuttiness. Medium roast, rich and smooth body. No bitter after taste. Highly recommend the place and the coffee.

Had a great blend from Cardinal Coffee Roasters, a small roaster out of Greensburg. Casa Blend a combination of coffees from Brazil, Ethiopia, and Tanzania. Perfect morning blend. Solid medium body, with good mouth feel, milk chocolatey, slight berry sweetness. Really solid morning coffee.

Briefly in Morgantown WV and stopped by Mountaineer Roasting Co. Tried their 1863 House-blend on Drip. It was a Columbian blend. Nice and smooth with a hint of sweetness and a touch of acidity. They roast their own beans and have a good variety of coffees. If you're in Morgantown give them a try.Rated: 4.50

Stopped by a South Hills favorite this morning, Reginald's Coffee. It is a old school house in Bethel Park. It is a great space. Clean and very welcoming. No fear of being sent to the Principle's office today. They do their own roasting. I tried their light roast Kenyan and thought it was quite good. Medium light body with a pleasant acidity and some sweetness. On Friday and Saturday they have Oram's donuts which is just an added bonus. They had lots of cool coffee stuff for sale for us coffee obsessed. If you find yourself in the South Hills check them out.Rated: 4.50

Stopped by Soluna Coffee & Mezcal today for an afternoon caffeine fix via high-quality Honduran coffee. Very nice space. I had their Cafe' De La Casa on drip. It was a washed and natural blend, medium roast and body, very smooth with a nutty sweatness. A very solid coffee indeed. They sell three roasts - that, an expresso blend, and Reserva Especial which is a single producer Honey processed Pacamara. I came for the coffee but will have to return for the food. The menu looked great and was much more extensive than I expected.Rated: 4.50

Stopped by a Pittsburgh institution this week. Veteran owned La Prima Espresso Co. I usually enjoy an expresso or cappuccino when I go, but this time I enjoyed their brew on drip. It was a Honduran, sweet and nutty. If you like medium to dark roasts or a traditional Italian coffee shops this is "the" place in the 'Burgh. Ben fatto!Rated: 4.50

Some good coffee this morning, brought back from Washington. Interesting roaster and shop, three generations of the Bizzarri family focusing on authentic Italian coffee. This one was one of their few light roasts. It is a great blend of Ethiopian and South American coffees. Very smooth, a little nutty and a little chocolate with a nice sweetness.Rated: 4.50

Was in Greensburg this week and stopped in The White Rabbit Cafe and Patisserie. Very cool space. Very open and welcoming with some amazing sweets. The coffee comes from 19 Coffee Company who I am finding lots of places. I had their Burundi on drip which was a light roast that I really enjoyed. If your in Greensburg it is worth a stop.

Had this washed Burundi at The White Rabbit Cafe and Patisserie this week, so I had to dig it out of my stash and give it a proper try this morning. It is a very fragrant light roast from 19 Coffee Company. The roasters notes say Tangerine, green apple and grapfruit. It has delicate body with a slight pleasant crisp acidity. I can taste the tangerine but not enough acidity to say grapefruit. Slight hint of honey. If your looking for something light this is a good choice.Rated: 4.50 -
