Nice pleasant, fruity aroma. Moderately sweet. Delicate orchard fruit notes were detectable. Hint of Ethiopian funk. The funk was reminiscent of dank, Southern Hemisphere hops. As the coffee opened up, juicy stone fruit notes appeared, and the sweetness became more pronounced. Peach and nectarine came to mind. Later, both the stone fruits and the overall sweetness really intensified and the coffee took on a peaches and cream-like quality. The flavor profile was juicy and fruit forward from the start. Stone fruit notes came through strongest. Peach and nectarine specifically. Orchard fruits were noticeable as well. Bit of Ethiopian funkiness. The funk intensified as the coffee cooled. Like in the nose, dank, juicy hops came to mind. Nice zippy lemony acidity in the center. Slightly tannic and drying, tea-like notes appeared on the back end. More lingering peachy sweetness in the finish. All in all, high sweetness in both the aroma and the flavor. Medium-high acidity in the aroma and high acidity in the flavor. Outstanding soft, supple, medium bodied mouthfeel. This is a fantastic Ethiopian coffee that displayed a lot more Ethiopian-type funk in the earlier brews than in the later ones but was always impressive nevertheless.
