I had the pleasure of trying Big Island Coffee Roaster's Kona Bloom this morning. It is a light to medium roast, made from washed heritage typica beans grown in beautiful Kona, Hawaii. I thoroughly enjoyed its smooth and silky body, with notes of milk chocolate and faint honey. While all Kona coffee is very pricey, but if you're going to treat yourself this is a roaster that you can't go wrong with.

More Details

Roast Level: Light Medium
A Light Medium Roast coffee, sometimes referred to as a "City Roast" or "American Roast," lies between a light and medium roast. This roast level strikes a balance by preserving the coffee bean's unique characteristics while allowing for a moderate development of body and flavor. The beans have a medium brown color, exhibiting a slight sheen of oils, providing a more balanced and nuanced flavor profile. A Light Medium Roast typically highlights the coffee's inherent fruity, floral, or citrus notes, while also providing some of the deeper, richer flavors associated with medium roasts.
Bean Source Country: Hawaii
Hawaiian specialty coffee is renowned for its high quality, unique flavor profile, and rich cultural heritage. In particular, Kona coffee is world-renowned. Grown on the volcanic slopes of Hawaii's islands, these beans are known for their smooth and mellow taste, with notes of chocolate, fruit, and spices. The state's coffee industry is deeply rooted in Hawaiian history and culture, with many smallholder farmers continue using traditional growing and processing methods passed down through generations.
