Little Waves / Cocoa Cinnamon is my neighborhood roaster in Durham -- adore this place and their beans. Really liked this one in a latte -- fruity and smooth. Highly recommend making the trip here and getting the churros. :) -

Sensational coffee with a super appealing raspberry strudel aroma. Complex with baking chocolate, mango, raspberry, and yellow tropical fruit notes. Has enough balance and sweetness to go with the slightly hoppy funkiness.Cupping Method:This coffee came via Bean Archives. I think a bit cooler 91C, brought out plenty of fruitiness. A bit funkier and a tad bitter at a higher temp.

I really liked this Rwandan from Little Waves, as much I have any Rwandan, which I usually find solid but undistinguished.
For a washed, I thought this had a bit of funkiness to it. I got an almond overtone, a satsuma type citrus, and a nice natural sweetness and medium mouthfeel. I thought it had a very rich aroma with a bit of spice on the grind.Cupping Method:v60, 18:1 ratio, 197F - part of Leaderboard S15. I ended up getting this one right though I struggled with it possibly being the Ecuadorian.

Very clean tea-like gesha. White flower. Nice mouthfeel and natural sweetness. Generally quite enjoyable, my one gripe would be that the fruity characteristics are a little bit indistinct. A bit plummy/pruney alongside some tropical notes. Sort of like a weird Mai Tai (roaster said papaya, which also makes sense).Cupping Method:Tried 3 temps on the v60 at 17:1.

There are some good thing here but a cedary woody note that is too strong. Its present at the beginning and lingers as a slight bitter note at the end. I get some black tea, mandarin, and maple syrup character that is nice.Cupping Method:Hario V60 pourover
