    A unique and delightful masterpiece-- light roast flavors flow in this intriguing roast! The flavor profile centers around a rose/floral, with peach and graham as secondary flavors. There are touches of lemon, vanilla, and guava. This is a sweet roast with a nice acidity. It finished with a bit of astringency.

    This coffee is something else entirely, unique and unforgettable. The tasting notes of cardamom, pistachio, vanilla cake, and honey come through clearly, especially as it cools, and I even got a hint of cinnamon French toast at one point. There is a natural caramel sweetness that gives it a comforting balance without being overwhelming. I also think there's like an All-Fruit jam note in acidity.

    Dak has never really set a foot wrong for me. Every coffee I have tried from them has been consistently thoughtful, distinctive, and high quality. They always seem to bring something special to the table, and this coffee is no exception.

    It is the kind of coffee that makes you rethink what coffee can be, thanks to its careful processing and bold flavor profile. Sometimes I just want a pistachio cardamom drink without any added sugar, and this delivers perfectly. It is both delicious and completely distinct, an easy top grade for me.

    Leaderboard Season 14 blind tasting.

    I had this coffee twice (20g, 18:1 ratio both times})

    First time at 194 degrees, I got strawberry, fruit punch, and pineapple. Just a touch of funk mid-palate and a light chocolate finish.

    Second time, a little bit hotter tasted more like a grape jolly rancher with a glycerin mouthfeel and a milk chocolate finish.

    Really tasty both times. Dak's always outstanding.

    The Alchemist? is an experimental anaerobic natural from Gasharu farms in the Nyamasheke district of the western province of Rwanda.

    The dry aroma and flavour is full of macerated fruits, red and dark berries and chocolate, its bold clear and has excellent body. However, its the tropical malic acidity that really lifts the score for me with this coffee. Its a bit boozy; theres definitely a hint of funk no more than a couple of notes on a bass guitar though.

    It homogenises quite a bit as it cools rather than improving or opening up in any way but that doesnt detract much really.

    I have known a coffee like this to divide opinion a bit on a table with some liking this a lot more than others. Im all for them, especially when the brakes are kept on a bit to add balance and refinement as has been achieved here. Sweet, juicy, aromatic, lots of body, not much to dislike here for me.

    I cupped this out of the remnants of a friend's Leaderboard Coffee set a couple months ago, emailed him for the info, and forgot to input it (I didn't have the right number). This was a fantastic cup of coffee and I wish I had more (maybe I'll order some). Very peachy and pleasantly floral, like chamomile. Has body and a really nice touch of acidity. A great coffee.

    A super interesting coffee for my 1,000th review, and the first Leaderboard roast of Season 13!

    A really interesting aroma with spice, cinnamon, and fruit. I suspected it could be some type of co-ferment. Really did not expect a honey-washed Gesha.

    The coffee itself was delicious and complex. When its hot, it has a slight rooibos/vanilla character with a hint of cinnamon, lavender and candied peach. Once cool, its raspberry peach tea, with a slight hint of lavender. An awesome coffee from one of the worlds best roasters!

    Cupping Method:I made it 3 times with Hario v60, between 195 and 199F, each time at an 18:1 ratio.

    Surprisingly restrained for a natural coffee, this drinks like a light peach lemonade iced black tea. I dont get a ton of complexity and the florality is faint, but its very clean and easy to drink. Its hard to describe, unless youre drinking it, but basically all of that character is light, but present and restrained.

    Deep Currant? is again just a brilliant name for this coffee. On the dry aroma theres raisin, red and black currants and brown sugar. The flavour is more of the same, I get some raspberry and cranberry in there too and a sweet milky mug of tea vibe which I think may be the white choc note theyre alluding too. The acidity is well integrated juicy, malic and citric.

    The body is on the light side, and the aftertaste a little fleeting. Some really enjoyable flavour and aromatics with this coffee.

    Fruit forward, a bit savory. I gave it a 4 the first time, a 4.5 after trying it the second time. The first time it seemed quite acidic.

    A really interesting coffee from Leaderboard Season 12. This was my first coffee, and I feel like I got a lot of the tasting notes right with black tea and floral, rhubarb, a bit of herbaceousness, and savoriness. I also picked up apricot and blueberry. I thought this was a bit more tart than Colombians.

    Also throwing me off was that I recently had a Chiroso from Black and White Coffee that was nothing like this one.

    In any case, V and I both like this coffee but lacked the knowledge of this varietal to identify it.

    A super interesting coffee that's funky and fun. For me, a bit too funky.

    I pick up the watermelon, sort of in a watermelon jolly rancher format. There's a ton of a natural sweetness. I also get raspberry and plum. Smooth and clean ending.
