This is one of the best espressos I've had this year. I have a slight bias towards medium espressos myself, and this is an excellent one. Exactly what you'd hope to see with a South American origin espresso, highlighting the acidity and balancing it off with big chocolate character.

Fantastic balance. A burst of dark chocolate at the beginning, the good kind, evolves into a complex mix of blackberry, molasses, and brown sugar. Almost a little bit of spice, like a hint of nutmeg in there. Clean and long finish. Delicious.

Smooth and delicious medium-dark roast. Some nuttiness (almond?) that hits front of palate and re-appears in the middle sandwiching some New England blueberrry acidity. Some natural sweetness. Very clean finish.

I had a really good experience with the espresso.

At the Old Mill in Chelmsford, I bought a bag and actually the barista and I sampled it. We both really liked it. I had also had a doppio of Point Break earlier in the day (one of the better espressos I've had this year). I give a slight edge to Point Break although they seem fairly similar in composition. I think Point Break is just a touch more complex and refined.

With the Beach Bum, it has a nice strand of acidity to go with the flavors of high-quality dark chocolate, a touch of caramel, and a raspberry/wine character.

Cupping Method:Doppio at Old Mill in Chelmsford (Rocket espresso), home as espresso and cortado.

I didnt realize this was an espresso when I brewed it, and I made it as a pour over. It left too much of a bitter aftertaste for me, but otherwise it was smooth and interesting. I wonder if it would be less bitter as an espresso drink.

A nice coffee flavor that was easy to drink. It was well balanced with a nice, light feel.
