Complex espresso that teeters on the edge of being too acidic and may be for some people. If you don't mind that, it's complex, like a high-end dark chocolate, with some red wine and blackberry character. Nice clean finish. Makes a good cortado as well.

A very nice clean, smooth medium roast coffee. Smooth and lots of natural sweetness, caramel, and a little bit of clean acidity.

Cupping Method:Pourover at Acton Coffee House. Metal pourover system in stand I didn't recognize.

Cleaning up notes. I missed inputting a few reviews between my Nantucket and Quebec trips. My local cafe Twisted Tree switched from Jaws to Captain Crosby on espresso so I got to try it. I noted 4.5 and took a picture but can't find my taste notes.

This roast is a delightful treat for a summer day. Light and bright, with a tangy fruitiness and citrus flavors. Lemon / apricot, lightly sweet with a touch of astringency.

Very nice decaf espresso. Lots of natural sweetness and reminds me of an orange Milano cookies that I had when I was a kid. Slightly walnut and earthy note mid-palate gives it balanced. Solid medium crema, good mouthfeel overall.

Cold brew on the dark roast side. Good smoothness. Nutty. Just happy the local cafe has cold brew on tap now!

Cupping Method:Ordered from Twisted Tree Cafe in Lincoln MA.

This is quite smooth and easy to drink. I don't think it has a winning characteristic that would make me seek it out, but it's WAY better than hotel instant coffee. The neutrality of it this roast definitely maps to what I know some coffee drinkers like. I get some natural sweetness, and chocolate. I think it'd benefit from a bit more acidity. The finish is clean and you could easily chug a cup of this slightly above room temp.

Compared to other single serve immersion coffees, this could be considered great, but I feel like it just doesn't brew quite strong enough. The flavor is high, dry, and consistent, but also a bit weak. I am curious to try it again, prepared as a cold brew.
