East Fourteenth coffee is homage to a past heritage and a link to history in the making. It is the story of Oakland’s wide-reaching cultures and creeds. East Fourteenth’s rich, full body coffee showcases the talents of the Sweet Unity Farms coffee cooperatives and, for us, represents the big narrative of International Blvd.

I'm reviewing the Cometeer capsule here. It's appealing and quite good. Immense natural sweetness, great depth of chocolate flavor, a tiny overtone of blackstrap molasses, and for a dark roast, balanced acidity and fruitiness (strawberry/blueberry). Usual silky Cometeer mouthfeel (a plus for me). Finish is short but clean.

Not a smash hit or anything but a very satifying/comforting medium-dark roast type cup.

Cupping Method:Cometeer capsule from their Advent Calendar, just added water. Yes it's November and I'm drinking these out of order.

More Details

Roast Level: Dark
Dark roast coffee features a more intense, robust flavor profile due to its longer roasting time. Therefore, when selecting a dark roast, expect less acidity, a full body, and flavors like dark chocolate, smokiness, and a hint of bitterness.
Bean Source Country: Tanzania
Tanzanian specialty coffee is known for its bright acidity and fruity notes. Tanzania has high altitudes, such as the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro, that allow for rich flavor development. Tanzania is known for its peaberry coffee, formed when one seed develops inside the coffee cherry instead of the usual two. Peaberry beans are prized for their intense flavor and, paired with Tanzanian's unique terrain, make for a specialty coffee drinker's dream.
