Heritage House originated in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in January 1993, as the first coffee house our town ever knew. Since then, we have continued growing as a locally owned small business. The original owners opened the store with nothing more than a couple pumps of coffee and a few pastries. As time went on and owners changed, the cafe continued to grow, offering gifts to their customers. In 2005, the third and current owner took over. Rebekah didn't know much about coffee, but she knew a good cup o' joe when she tasted one. Over the years, Heritage House has flourished into the business that it is today, now offering over 40 diverse coffees from all over the world, a collection of assorted teas, and a variety of fresh, from- scratch, baked goods, cafe lunches and even now full-service dinner! Heritage House has come a long way since its grand opening over two decades ago. Through owners, merchandise, and employees much has changed, but one thing remains the same: coffee with friends is happiness tasted and time well spent. Heritage House is truly a gift and this local gem is a miracle that serves coffee. Rebekah's heart's desire is to grow the business into something much more than just a place to grab a muffin and get your caffeine fix. Her vision for Heritage House is to be a refuge of peace in the midst of a broken world. If you ever want to hear the full story of this miracle, you should ask Rebekah about it the next time you pop in.
