Theo McCracken started Dead River Coffee Roasters in 2002 with the mission to make some damn good coffee that fits everyone's budget and to create a safe space for all to enjoy a cup. He did that, and Sloan Dorr is continuing this legacy. Sloan's journey at Dead River started when Theo pulled her away, one by one, from all of her jobs (there were LOTS of jobs). She's always loved coffee, coffee culture, and the romantic idea of hanging out in a coffee shop all day. Starting out as the 'saturday Adult', Sloan eventually moved into a full time position. She began learning the ins and outs of the coffee business, all the while learning to roast, manage, and develop a palate for coffees.
