Lakota Coffee Company & Roasters, a Coffee Tradition in Columbia, MO for 27 Years Lakota Coffee Company was started by Skip DuCharme in 1992. After discovering the world of coffee roasting in Austin, TX, Skip created Lakota Coffee Company & Roasters. Our name, derived from the Teton Sioux, means ‘friendly people’, and represents our commitment to providing hospitality and great tasting coffee to everyone who comes through our doors. Since we opened, we have been committed to supporting our community. We donate to many mid-Missouri based charities and organizations and numerous Native American organizations. The following is our current list of Native American organizations that we are supporting this year: Oglala Lakota Nation, Pine Ridge Reservation, Wounded Knee District School, St. Joseph’s Indian School, Trees, Water & People, and Cheyenne River Women’s Outreach.
