An exceptionally well-balanced espresso sitting. Medium roast but with really nice acidity, caramel, a bit of florality and blackberry. Lightly earthy but nothing out of bounds.

This is a very good choice for cold brew. Saint Cafe in Studio City LA uses this blend for their cold brew and I had it a few times. Very smooth, balanced. Naturally sweet in the slightly caramel range. Acidity is red plummy.

Cupping Method:Cold brew at Saint on Moorpark LA. Owner/barista confirmed this is the roast they use.

Blind tasting. Angels Cup Black Box. Box A. Gorgeous large beans. Rich spice, cocoa and roast aroma. 4.5 stars. Fruity (berry, peach) with someone unique burst of jasmine mid palate. Slightest touch of pleasant umami. Natural sweetness. Outstanding. Very smooth, very balanced.

Filing old notes: A delicious, characteristic gesha with floral, tropical notes on these nose. Black tea, pineapple, berry on palate. Didn't quite finish strong as acidity faded off.

Cupping Method:Vertical tasting out of a AngelsCup Black Gesha box

Update: made French Press cold brew here and it was excellent. Very smooth with a blueberry note coming out.

    ***

Smooth, versatile, and borderline chuggable. I wouldn't say this has a single standout trait.

Wonderful chocolate aroma with a little bit of sweetness.

    Balanced acidity.

Slightly milk chocolate tailing into mid-palate strong black tea. It's very smooth but I'd take a little bit more brightness in the frutiness notes. That would have pushed it over the top.

Actually pulled it as espresso and it had a massive crema and a bit of watermelon funk came out.

Cupping Method:Grading as pourover, made with v60, 18:1 ratio, 197 degrees. I also made it at 205 degrees, and it was too hot.

Actually enjoyed the espresso as as well.

This is a great roast-- balanced, solid medium characteristics, and flavorful! The more pronounced flavors were cola and blackberry. A great cup of coffee, with an intriguing flavor profile.

I give it a 4. I think it must be very high caffeine because I am twitching!!!

Quite similar to another Cometeer pod our friends sent us, the Oro Fino, but I think the depth of flavor and mouthfeel was slightly better in the Oro Fino. Very smooth with clean mouthfeel. Classic toffee and red apple profile from a Central American coffee. Balanced acidity. Makes for a solid easy drinker.
