A delicious Ethiopian that represents a perfectly executed example of this origin. It is similar to the usual Ethiopians but has a slightly richer mouthfeel and a slight wine character.

The flavors in this Ethiopian coffee are not just bright, but also perfectly balanced. The earl-greyish platform provides a familiar base, while the long, complex bergamot and floral linger add a sophisticated twist, ensuring a satisfying and enjoyable coffee experience.

There's a lot of natural sweetness, and the cranberry/orange character reminds me of a scone I like from the local farm. The acidity is more complex and tart in the citrus range than orange, maybe like a satsuma, a Japanese orange that's sweet and crisply tart.

he aroma was super sweet, fruity and complex. Ripe, juicy berry notes dominated. Strawberry specifically came to mind. Raspberry was noticeable as well. There was a rich, dense, candied sugar-like aspect to this as well. As the coffee cooled, an interesting tropical fruit quality appeared. Ripe mango perhaps. Bit of pineapple too. Later, the tropical fruit notes became somewhat funkier and more fragrant. Like the nose, the flavor profile was amazingly fruity and complex. Nice zippy, lemon-lime acidity up front. Tropical fruit notes appeared as the coffee moved along the palate. Overripe mango and pineapple came to mind. There was an interesting floral quality in the center that was reminiscent of lavender. Dense, juicy berry notes appeared on the back end and intensified as the coffee cooled. Like in the aroma, strawberry was again most prominent followed closely by raspberry. Delicate stone fruit notes appeared in the sweet, lingering finish. All in all, exceptional sweetness in both the aroma and the flavor. Fantastic acidity in both as well. Outstanding soft, juicy, medium-full bodied mouthfeel. This is an absolutely outstanding naturally processed Mejorado and one of the sweetest and most complex coffees I have tried all year. Both Juan Peña and H&S knocked it out of the park with this release.

The aroma was amazingly floral and fragrant. Rosewater notes came through big time. Possibly some lavender too. Jasmine was also quite apparent. As the coffee cooled, a sugary, stone fruit-like sweetness emerged. Later, the rose notes mellowed and the jasmine really intensified. Bergamot was also apparent. The flavor profile was super floral and bright too but not quite to the degree of the nose. Elegant florals came through strong up front. Like in the nose, rosewater was again most prominent initially. Lots of fruity sweetness too. Lavender was noticeable as well. Hint of jasmine as well. Big tart lemony notes appeared in the center and intensified as the liquid moved along the palate. The finish was slightly drying and tannic and reminiscent of lemon tea. As the coffee cooled, the jasmine presence intensified and the tannins in the finish mellowed. The lemon also became even more pronounced. All in all, outstanding sweetness in both the aroma and the flavor. Medium-high acidity in the aroma and exceptionally high acidity in the flavor. Excellent soft, juicy, medium-light bodied mouthfeel. H&S noted in the description of the coffee that it was likely their most floral offering to date, and I would definitely agree with this sentiment. Personally, this could be my favorite coffee of the year.

Very clean geisha, with a pleasant mouth feel and some interesting notes that you have to squint a bit to get it. The roaster has rambutan cardamom, and dragonfruit. I think dragon fruit is the one I can really pick up. I get a little bit of white/Concord grape. A little bit of ripe blueberry. The sweetness is a very faint honey.

Cupping Method:17:1, 93C in v60. Felt like I could get a five star cup out of this one, but three tries and never made it there. I got this coffee from Bean Archives.
