Medium dark roast with immense depth of chocolate flavor, and nice nutty and citrust complimentary notes. Nice natural sweetness in the brown sugar range, and a full-bodied mouthfeel with no bitterness. Made very good cold brew.
Overall, Dean's Beans is growing on me after a mixed start. I like the company's values and while I often found their roasts a touch darker than I prefer, the flavor development is excellent.Cupping Method:Cold Brew at Nan's Market in Stow, MA

Versatile coffee that works as pourover, espresso, and Moka Pot. In all 3 this coffee has a wonderful natural sweetness that really the roaster has really brought out. Very clean aftertaste. Medium crema as espresso.

Well executed Americas medium roast blend. You expect caramel, nutty, and some good acidity, and that's what you get here. In addition, Dean's Bean's is fair-trade and organic. If you do the palate equivalent of squinting, there's something very interesting, almost a slight winter green that makes this coffee a bit more fun and complex.Cupping Method:Pourover at Coffeelands in Lancaster, MA

I'm not sure who thought to put this mix of beans together (Timor + Latin America + espresso blend?!) but it really works well as medium house roast type of coffee. It has enough natural sweetness to balance off a touch of earthiness. It's chocolatey and full-bodied. Very, very smooth.
The fruitness is simple but pleasant, a red apple type. The finish is bit short, more the type where you want to take another sip that have it linger, but that's OK.

UPDATE: Awesome barista at Coffeelands in Clinton, MA gave me a pull after I said I didn't like it. Maybe the bag I got was a dud or not stored properly (I did get it from a farm store). She got a solid crema and it was a solid, neutral Italian dark roast espresso. Still didn't get a lot of complexity but it was good. Beautiful looking beans. Great company with great values. Beans smell great and don't look burned. Tried 4 different ways to get good coffee out, tried different temps of espresso machine and just doesn't work for me. Tastes bitter in moka pot. A little bit bitter with no crema in espresso machine. -

As an iced Americano seems smoky and tobacco.
I give it a 3 for that.
As a pourover I liked it more. I give it a 4. -

I had the sensation of tasting a burnt marshmallow on a smore the first couple of drinks I took - that was fun. It made a nice morning cup, not super fancy but a good way to start the day.Cupping Method:Pour over

I futzed around with this for 2 months, making the occasional pourover, espresso, and affogato. French roast isn't normally my thing. I found it versatile and useful to have around. It was solid way and didn't really stand out to me. Definitely chocolatety, a little plummy and generally low-ish in complexity. Even when quite fresh, the creme was a little bit thin on the espressos.
