The best specialty coffee I've had in 2025 was at Breehant Roastery in Riyadh. They served a Yemeni Haraz grown at 2,200 meters above sea level and processed anaerobically. The flavors were unforgettable notes of grape, tangerine, raisin, dark chocolate, and molasses, with a silky body and balanced sweetness that lingered long after the cup was gone.

Cupping Method:This is a local expert pick from Khalid Althawab of Saudi Tips.

Bean Source Country: Yemen
With a history dating back centuries, Yemeni coffee is prized for its distinct, wine-like qualities, intense flavors, and fruity, spicy, or chocolatey notes. Grown on terraced hillsides and processed using traditional methods, Yemeni beans such as Mokha and Ismaili are rare and highly sought after by aficionados.
