Today, Panama has some of the best coffee in the world, the most expensive coffee at auction and also, Panamanian coffee is one of the most used origins in international competitions. However, 15 years ago, Panama was not known as a coffee producing country. It was not until 2004, at the "Best of Panama" auction, that the Geisha of a lot at Hacienda la Esmeralda was discovered and Panama managed to position itself for the first time as one of the leaders in specialty coffee and "Super Specialty .” From that moment on, Panama became an attractive point for roasters and coffee buyers from all over the world.
