Today I had to charge my EV at a highway rest stop so I decided to answer the question, “Is McDonald's coffee any good?”
Answer: it's ok!
Brewed in a Bunn and served incredibly hot, McDonald's coffee delivers probably about exactly what you'd expect. It's a likely intentionally middle of the road and inoffensive coffee.
The aroma is very neutral with just a touch of chocolate. When hot, it drinks clean and smooth with a medium dark profile that doesn't try to impress but also doesn't offend. As it cools, some light cashew and caramel notes develop, along with a mild natural sweetness.
Once cold, there's a subtle plum jam finish. But that takes a heckuva long time!
At $2.19 for at least 10 ounces, it's very drinkable and a solid choice for a caffeine fix. Honestly, it's better than the coffee I've been getting at Marriott recently.
