Matador Coffee Roasting Co.. was founded in 2005 by Father and son team Jack and Mario Martusciello in Scottsdale, Arizona. ​ Jack was an entrepreneur himself, having several family-owned and operated small businesses over the years. Growing up in this environment inspired Mario to do the same. ​ After 20 years in the coffee business and even owning a Coffee shop in Seattle, Mario decided it was time to move back to Arizona to start a wholesale coffee business in order to have more control over the products he had become so familiar with over the years. ​ The operation was originally based in Scottsdale, supplying coffee to various local businesses and even being the first Local Coffee Roaster on Whole Foods shelves in Arizona! ​ Mario eventually married and had children of his own and decided to move his family to beautiful Flagstaff, AZ.
