Carolyn May grew up on Mackinac Island, learning to work for her dad since she was 14 for the family business, May’s Candy Shop. After graduating with a Bachelor degree in Business Management from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan in 2006, she then worked for Disney World under the hospitality internship and continued by becoming an Assistant Manager for Guest Relations for Grand Hotel in 2009/10. On June 12, 2011 Lucky Bean was open on Market Street where it was originally her dad's 3rd business that previously operated for 15 years. During her free time she is a runner and part-time wedding singer on Mackinac.
