A true treat for the medium roast espresso drink who likes florality, complexity, and acidity. Undertone of a very fine, dark chocolate, and then blackberry/lime acidity never veering too far from the zone where it's pleasant, but evolving and changing. Definitely not for the Italian roast lover!

Incredibly easy to drink. Distinctly aromatic right out of the seal pack. The instant filter style is a very high quality setup, not just a tea bag but with a stand that hooks on both sides of the cup.

Very fruity and tropical but super super smooth. Black tea platform with a very clean finish, just a hint of vanilla. Ive been trying convenience format all summer during my travels and this one might be my favorite.

An excellent light roast for pourover, definitely towards the very top end of Brazilian. Driven by uninterrupted fruitiness and acidity, this is a very tasty coffee for a light roast drinker and nothing like you normally get out of Brazil.

I got a combination of persimmon and blood orange, and a very distinct vanilla. The roaster said peach, apricot, and vanilla, so I think in line. The persimmon comes from a bit of uniqueness, it's not as straightforward as some of the Central America peach/tropical coffees. I think that's what makes it unique and fun.

Maybe actually unfair since I had it side by side with Hidden's Ethiopia espresso, which for me was outstanding. This is floral, fruity, complex medium roast as well, with a lot of chocolate undertones and a very pleasant crema.

I can certainly see why this one is used for milk drink, it has a bit more balanced and a more muted acidity than the Ethiopia. It's much closer to something everyone would like. I know my wife loved her cafe con leche that they made with this espresso.

I've used this type of filter pack before with some good results, including this morning with the Kenia Drip and Trip from Hidden Coffee! This is a pretty light Brazilian roast and I actually had it as pourover at the Hidden Coffee in Barcelona. The good flavor characteristics were present, including the orange and vanilla, but it extracted very light in this filter format. That made it super easy to drink and smooth but left me a little wanting for flavor. The vanilla stood out more in this format as it was less overwhelmed by the typical coffee aromatics.

Editor's Overview

We visited Hidden Coffee in 2023 during our Spain coffee tour, and thought it deserved recognition as one of the best roasters/cafes in the world. The sourcing and roasting is very thoughtful, and the baristas are extremely well-trained. This is a must visit for a coffee lover visiting Barcelona.
