This is an outstanding Colombian geisha that the roaster has nicely tamed. In the past, I've had the Milton Monroy geisha and found it quite expressive and almost overly floral. This one is more balanced, with many tropical characters, a midpalate funk that is pretty watermelon, and a restrained jasmine rose. Gotta get my hands on more Friedhats!

Sensational coffee that draws out the best from natural coffee and the Gesha varietal. I get strawberry and watermelon, just a little funky. A lot of natural sweetness. Light black tea in the background.

The coffee is excellent. Some of those familiar toffee and baked fruit notes on the aroma, raisin and brown sugar sweet, excellent juicy acidity and very good balance and body. Maybe green tea, not sure I drink enough of it to draw on it as a sensory memory.
