I had heard of Delta simply because it's so big in Portugal. I can see the hype here! This reminds me a lot of Starbucks dark espresso roast, a really well executed dark roast that is balanced and level enough to go smooth with milk.

I'd describe it as dark but smooth, dark chocolate, long pleasant linger. Some dried plum. Maybe a touch of that European fiber cookies sweetness. Bitter and darkness are present but in moderation. When cool you get some blackberry notes. A top-notch cafe roast.

Editor's Overview

Delta Cafés' story began in 1961 when Rui Nabeiro, a visionary entrepreneur with a deep passion for coffee, founded the company. Since its inception, the company has embraced a steadfast commitment to producing premium coffee blends using a meticulous selection of both Arabica and Robusta beans. Delta Cafés takes pride in its time-honored roasting techniques, passed down through generations, which preserve the aromatic nuances and distinctive flavors that have become synonymous with the brand. As someone who tries to understand why big brands have lasting appeal, I was excited to try Delta. Indeed, I found my first Delta espresso balanced enough to drink alone and go with milk - it's obvious why they'd be a great partner to a European cafe.
