I think we have a winner in the instant / travel competition! Smooth but with a touch of spice this is an excellent cup of coffee. Its maybe a 4.5 compared to true pourover specialty medium roast but the best Ive found in a convenience format. Fair trade and organic to boot!

I had the pleasure of trying this coffee on a flight to Iceland a few months ago (I forgot to put in the review but took notes) and was impressed. The aroma when you open the bag is awesome. With its smooth texture and low acidity, Early Bird Blend is satisfying and convenient. The subtle citrusy notes give it some balance.

The steeping bag is of high quality, which is a testament to the attention to detail put into this product. Additionally, the fact that it's organic is a huge plus for me.

In the world of convenient coffee, you've got to know where to look if you want to find something genuinely good. That's where Chamberlain Coffee comes in - a brand created by online personality Emma Chamberlain. If you don't know Emma, she's made quite a name for herself on the internet as an influencer with an affinity for coffee. To bring her love for the brew to her followers, she decided to launch Chamberlain Coffee.

OK Original Family medium roast - best so far of a bunch of convenience/instant/just add water formats I'm testing for my upcoming trip (2 months away from my Hario/Chemex).

Original Family Blend is just likemany people want coffee to be on a busy morning. Smooth, with an earthy taste that's just right. It has a kind of peanut flavor to it in the middle, which is a pleasant surprise. The quality of the coffee bag (is it still called a tea bag) is pretty good too, made of a high quality fiber. You can tell they've thought about it, ensuring the extraction is on point.

This medium roast leaves you with an earthy aftertaste, kind of like a good Sumatran. Interestingly though, this blend is all South American. If we're talking about the instant or "just-add-hot-water" category, this coffee is certainly on the higher end. It could use a touch more fruitiness, maybe a hint of plum or something, but it's a pretty solid cup of joe. So, if you're in a hurry or traveling but still want decent coffee, this is worth a shot. Definitely better than most hotel/airplane coffee.

I recently tried the Social Dog Blend by Chamberlain Coffee, founded by the mega influencer Emma Chamberlain. With a summer of travel coming up, I was excited to try this blend, particularly in the convenient, steeped format. Here's my verdict: not bad at all!

The Social Dog Blend doesn't possess a standout character that sets it apart from micro-roaster specialty coffee. Still, it offers a smooth and nutty flavor profile that is relatively well-balanced. Upon savoring each sip, I noticed hints of chocolate and peanuts, which accurately describe the overall taste.

One of the highlights of this coffee is its steeped format. It's incredibly easy and convenient to prepare, making it a good choice for those on the go. Compared to the average coffee served on airplanes or in hotels, the steeped Social Dog Blend version is undoubtedly a significant improvement. It delivers a satisfying and enjoyable cup of coffee. It's also organic.

Overall, I found the Social Dog Blend a pleasant coffee experience. While it may not possess exceptional characteristics, it compensates with its smoothness, nuttiness, and relatively balanced flavor. The convenient steeped format makes it a reliable choice for those looking for a quick and hassle-free coffee option, surpassing the quality of typical airplane and hotel coffee.

    Also, Emma seems lovely!

Chamberlain Coffee's Night Owl Blend offers an intriguing combination of beans from Peru, Guatemala, and Sumatra. It comes in an individual seal pack and a high quality fabric steeping bag.

Upon opening the bag, you're immediately met with an earthy, rich smell, indicative of its robust origins. Theres a subtle hint of peanuts that's noticeable, complemented by a touch of chocolate. The flavor is reminiscent of the typical diner or coffee shop dark roast, which means it's familiar and straightforward.

While many dark roasts tend to have a prominent bitter edge, the Night Owl Blend keeps it in check. Theres a slight woody taste, but its not dominant or off-putting. Whats notable is how it finishes: clean and without any lingering aftertaste. This makes it a good choice for those who prefer a straightforward dark roast without any overly complex flavor notes.

For me Chamberlain Coffee's Night Owl Blend offers a solid dark roast/donut shop type experience with a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. Its a blend that will appeal to those looking for a simple, clean dark roast.

I prepared this single serve using the hot brewing instructions on the package, but the flavor was more weak than I was anticipating. Otherwise, it was balanced and smooth, convenient, and had a wonderful aroma out of the package.

I want to love these single serve bags because they are so convenient, but so far, they have not been my favorites. This one was weak even when brewed according to instructions and felt too flat. I might try this as cold brew next time and see if that works better.

This was my first time trying steeped bag coffee (I used hot water brewing method). This brew, unfortunately, came across as weak and bland. It was a smooth, even drink with low acidity and no bitterness, but limited flavor.
